Department of Engineering Physics

Engineering Physics forms the basis and integral part of present day modern institutes of science and technology. Department of Engineering physics has been effectively functional since the inception of LNCT, Indore in 2004. The department has been playing a pivotal role in shaping up future technocrats produced by the institution. The department stands focused to its ideals in imparting knowledge in physics and emphasizing its importance along with relevance to future engineering professionals. The Engineering Physics Department is headed by Dr. Sonu Sen along with one more dedicated faculty member and a laboratory technician. The Department has high tech infra a structure that includes a spacious laboratory housing latest equipments.  The course curriculum both in theory and practical is periodically upgraded as per the guide lines of RGPV, Bhopal and AICTE, New Delhi. All the faculty members train the students to handle high tech equipments as well as help them have a profound base of physics that is relevant to all branches of technology. Students are helped in paper presentation, contest in current scientific topic and project/ model making to help them being at par with the industry.

 

Infrastructure :

       The Department has a well equipped technical state of art laboratory, which has latest apparatus including experiments housed in the dark room. The laboratory is specially designed aesthetically, to provide conducive work environment.

Goal of the Department:

  • To help students strengthen the fundamentals in physics and use them to applications in engineering.
  • To help students gain practical knowledge / analytical bent of mind and experimental skills.
  • To inculcate scientific attitude and culture of scientific reasoning among students.
  • To produce consistently good result every academic year.
  • To produce high quality research publications.

Dr. Sonu Sen

Dr. Sonu Sen has been working as Head and Associate Professor, Department of Engineering physics at LNCT, Indore, since July 2014. He has been a dedicated professional with over 10 Years of experience in teaching physics. The teaching methods of Dr. Sen include interactive discussions and hands on approach to help students have a conceptual understanding He has been continuously working towards developing newer teaching modalities and improved student evaluation.

Dr. Sen obtained his B.Sc. (Computer Science) degree from Devi Ahilya University, Indore in 2003, M.Sc. (Physics) from Devi Ahilya University, Indore in 2005. Dr. Sen is an equally dedicated researcher and he has eight years of research experience in the field of “Relativistic-Laser Plasma Interaction”. He has Completed Ph.D. with research topic “Study of Nonlinear Wave Phenomena of a Short Pulse Laser in a Self Induced Plasma Channel” from School of Physics, Devi Ahilya University Indore in 2011.

Dr. Sen has 11 research publications to his credit in International journals like springer, Elsevier, Taylor and Francis, AIP, IOP etc. He has also wrote 3 international book chapters and contributed more than 30 research papers in different national and international conferences. He is also reviewer of Waves in Random and Complex Media, [Taylor & Francis-U.K.], Physical Science International Journal, [Sciencedomain International, USA], and IEEE Transactions on Plasma Sciences [IEEE]. He organized 4 workshops, seminars and conferences in Physics. He is supervising 2 Ph.D. research scholars at different university.  He is life time member of “Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI)” and  “Association of Asia Pacific Physical Societies - Division of Plasma Physics (AAPPS-DPP)”.

Engineering Mathematics

Department of Engineering Mathematics is a part of LNCT Indore and it play inevitable role in success of LNCT College. Engineering Mathematics Department objective is to prepare Engineering students to face challenges of the competitive world through mathematics. The Engineering Mathematics Department, headed by Dr Shilpa Rahurikar has 03 well experienced and PG qualified ,hard working and sincere  faculties Engineering Mathematics  I ,II III and Mathematics  for M.Tech. students are taught by the faculties. Mathematics plays an important role in the success of every student so the aim of teaching engineering mathematics for first and second year student is not only to cover RGPV prescribed syllabus but also to prepare them for competitive exams. On each and every students personal attention is given in the class by the faculties. Notes are prepared and extra time is given on weak students by the faculties. In order to ensure high standards of education for its students, the department has constantly upgraded itself by adding new technology like digital class and lectures of IIT professor.

Dr Shilpa Rahurikar

Dr Shilpa Rahurikar has joined LNCT Indore as Lecturer in 2007and now she is working as HOD in Engineering Mathematics Department. She has about 08 years of Academic and 5 years  of Research experience. Department Profile :

         Communication Skills Department objective is to prepare Engineering, MBA students to face challenges of the competitive world through communication. It is our constant endeavor to provide a safe, secure and happy learning environment to all our students. Achieving this is not a difficult task.

          We at Reasoning aim at partnering with every student in making meaningful contribution to their future of all by maximizing the potential of the English language in smoothening the roads to a better communication, and to a better tomorrow.

                In the first year the goal is achieved through RGPV prescribed syllabus and personal counseling. From second year onwards the objective is pursued through intensive interactive sessions such as story telling conversations, descriptions, newspaper reading etc. Students are groomed for interviews and campus placements through mock interviews, group discussions, presentations etc.

             The Department conducts literary competitions - Debates, Extempore, Presentations, Seminars etc. and trains students to anchor functions. The department also plays an important role in motivating, mentoring and monitoring the performance of individual students.

               The Department has a Language Lab equipped with Globarena Software.  The software covers all four sections of communication-Reading Writing, Listening & Speaking.

                 Along with these exercises vocabulary, grammar sessions cater to the needs of the students in order to prune them into confident human beings.

                             Mr. L. J. Brown is working as “Group Head” for LAKSHMI NARAIN COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY Indore since April 2010. A highly result oriented performance driven professional, designing, developing and conducting training programs from Indore, with nearly 13 years of rich experience in Strategic Planning, Excellent, Communication Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Soft Skills, Voice and Accent, Fluency at English, Customer Service Training, Leadership Program & Team Management and an acumen to respond effectively to changing circumstances. He is involved in training of students for GD/PI and Seminars.

    Mrs. Anita Malhotra (H.O.D.)

                    Mrs. Anita Malhotra joined LNCT in March 2010.She is a post graduate (MA-English) from Jivaji University Gwalior. She graduated (BA-English Honors) from Punjab University, Chandigarh in the year 1978. She did B.Ed from Isabella Thoburn College; Lucknow University in1979.She has a rich teaching experience of seventeen years. She presented two papers in National Conferences in 2010 & 2011 and she has trained students for GRE, GMAT, SAT and TOEFEL.

                        Mrs. Anita Malhotra is a performance driven professional with excellent communication skills. She possesses an acumen to plan, collect material and deliver lessons in the class. She understands and motivates students to achieve their desired goal.
