DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING

Civil Engineering the core branch is being taught successfully accomplishing great heights since year 2004 in RIT, Indore, LNCT Group. Owing to the growing demand of civil Engineers earlier intake of 30 seats has been increased to 60 seats from last two years. Civil Engineering comprising of construction of building, roads, airfields, dams, bridges, providing water supply, irrigation, drainage services has a never ending demand. The branch is at boom today requiring infinitely large number of civil engineers. The curriculum of RGPV educates students to fulfill civil engineering requirements of the nation and the world. The department has well qualified faculty and supporting staff, well equipped laboratories with the latest instruments which are grooming the budding engineers to face the challenges of industry and institute.  Seminar workshop and lectures are organized which ventilate in the latest technology and market trends.

Achievements of head of civil engineering department

Miss Reeta Gupta Head of civil engineering department, Rishiraj institute of technology is a well qualified engineer planner; she is very sincere, hard working, dedicated. She has done BE- civil from Shri G.S.Institute of sc. & tech indore. She has done master of planning with specialization in housing from the best institute of Asia school of planning and architecture, New Delhi on U.G.C scholarship after having qualified GATE with 85 percentile. She has 13 years experience of teaching and research, 10 years in SGSITS, indore and 4 years in RIT,indore .she has 6 technical papers published in journals, proceedings of national level seminar and conferences. She has carried out 6 spatial designs projects with leading consultants. She has attended 5 summer and winter school of 2 weeks duration of Indian society of technical education on various disciplines of civil engineering. She has attended 2 refresher courses of 1 week duration on public health engineering sponsored by ministry of urban development, India. She has also attended a seminar cum training course on low cost housing and building material of 4 days duration organized in collaboration with central building research institute Roorkee (India) sponsored by M.P. council of science and technology. She has life membership of Indian society of technical education, associate member of Institution of engineers (India) and associate member of Institute of town planner, India. She was awarded young scientist fellowship of M.P. Council of science and technology for 3 months training at Central road research institute, New Delhi.

 She has the honor of being appointed as committee member of town and country planning organization (T.C.P.O) Govt. of M.P. (Suggested by Institute of Town planners, India) for complaints hearing and suggestions for master plan of 4 cities of M.P., Khandwa, Neemuch, Sendhwa, Garoth. She was co-convener of National Level Seminar held in RIT, Indore on 22 October, 2011 on design , construction and maintenance aspects of special structures. She organized a workshop on Basic streams of mechanical and civil engineering on feb.12, 2013 in RIT, Indore. She has been awarded by the best teacher award for maximum pass percentage result by Rishiraj Institute of technology, Indore.

Research work:-

1. Computer Aided design of Sewage Treatment Plant.

2. Optimization of irrigation using mathematical models

Achievements of department:-

 Seminar
Civil Engineering Dept. organized national level seminar on date 22 oct. 2011, on design , construction and maintenance aspects of special structures.
The department also organized a workshop on Basic    Streams of    Mech.&civil engineering on Feb.12,2013.
Seminar held on 26 April 2014 on Modern and Advanced Researches in Building/ Construction Technologies in Civil Engineering Department, LNCTS (RIT), Indore.
Miss Reeta Gupta has been appointed a member of the committee of Town and Country Planning organization (T.C.P.O) of Govt. of M.P. (Suggested by Institute of Town planners, India)for complaints hearing and suggestions for master plan of 4 cities of M.P., Khandwa, Neemuch, Sendhwa, Garoth.
Er. Manish Patidar lecture, Civil Engg. Dept., RIT, Indore has been selected in Rural Road development authority Govt. of M.P.

Expert Lecture
Lectures were organized by Indian Water Works Association (IWWA) and Divine India Youth Association  (DIYA) on Feb.20, 2013.
Lecture delivered by Er. Aazad Jain on “Green building” on 5th April 2015.
Lecture delivered by Er. S.C. Sarwate on “Demolition of structures” on 26 April 2016.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Students have been continuously participating in literary, technical, cultural and sports activities and have won many prizes at city, State and national level. 
Taha Amil Ansari (2015 Batch) was a “National level Baseball Player”. His team won Bronze medal in 2013.
Alish Khan (2016 Batch) was selected from 1700 students for Republic day camp in New Delhi as an NCC cadet. He was sent to Russia as Good will Indian Ambassador. He won Gold Medal in Judo.

Tech- Fest
Tech-fest was organized on 11 and 12 April, 2013 and in 2015 in which inter college competitions were organized.
Technical Visits
Technical visits are frequently organized to various civil engineering projects such as
1. Indira Sagar Dam.
2. Omkareswar Dam.
3. Kanadia Road Construction site.
4. Ready-mix Concrete Plant (PD Agrawal and County walk township).
5. Kabitkhedi Seewage treatment plant.
6. Green Building.
7. County walk and Oasis Township.
